A phenomenon they call it
The mysterious Marfa lights
That dance across the lonely skies
On dark West Texas nights
Astronomers search for answers
But they search, alas, in vain
And the mystery of the Marfa lights
Today goes unexplained
I have watched these lights of mystery
As they appear and disappear
And I've come to the conclusion
That there is no mystery here
They are angels of the desert
Who radiate this glow
As they dance to music of the winds
That here, forever blow
The enchantment of the essence
Of their prance across the skies
Yields the magic of their presence
As they dance before your eyes
They are beauty to the barren
Fetching water to it's thirst
Giving care to the uncaring
And blessings to the cursed
Yes, it's angels of the desert
That dance across these winds
To the rhythm of the music
Of a song that never ends
