I grin at a stranger
because I can feel you
watching me
you brush by her
purposelly touching arms
unaware of my watching you
you laugh the way I remember
when she tells a joke
but it's not because I'm looking
I'm behind
I giggle in a voice that is not mine
and let the stranger slip his arm
around my waist
hoping you see
but you're busy
you stop glancing at me
for reasons that upset me to think of
I know I've almost lost you
I crane my head to catch a glimpse
of you and her practically one
whispering
devious smiles
I'm losing anything I had left of you
I throw my arms around the man
he is surprised
but you are not
because you did not see
because you are leaving
hand in hand with her
I've lost
it's official
I turn back to the stranger
but he's pulling away
because he see through me
just like you did.
